I'm looking for a good freeware program to screen my phone calls through my
pc hardware modem (US Robotics 56k PCI). My phone current service does not
include caller ID.

Simply put, I would like to have my PC answer the phone after X number of
rings, automatically play the tones required to delete my phone number from
the telemarketer autodialing software list like the telezaper does, and then
offer a voice prompt for a number input like the Telebouncer TB1000 to
create ringtone for legit phone calls to get through or to leave a voice
mail message. Is there such a thing?

If not now then certainly when people realise there is a market for
this. In essence what you are looking for is an advanced voice mail
system (these exist). The tones for the telemarketer can be an mp3 or
wav file which get sent to the modem. The ringtones and voicemail should
be part of a Linux program called Asterisk if I am correct.

I use a program called PhoneTrayFree, which may do what you want. However,
I believe the modem has to be a voice modem for it to be able to play
sounds over your phone line.
