Windows 7 Backup Question

If I backup my system to another internal drive on my PC, will the
backup copy become infected if my computer gets a Trojan or virus? I
have made a Windows 7 recovery disk already.

I'm just considering my options. Do I get a separate external drive for
a system backup and remove it for safe keeping, or partition a slave
drive and dedicate one partition for my system backups? How practical
are DVD disc backups?

A good rule of thumb if you have lots of files that you cant afford to miss
is to backup, Backup, BACKUP.

Backup to another drive or partition on your HDD. Backup to an external
drive(and put somewhere else in case the house gets blown up) and lastly
backup to the internet/cloud whether it be Skydrive, Dropbox or Carbonite.

DVD's/USB thumb drives are okay if you dont have much but I would still use
online backup.

Usually backup files/images on another drive are free from malware/viruses.

I was wondering if I have a partitioned internal slave drive and I backup my Windows 7 system to one partition, will that backup be in jeopardy of being infected if my C drive becomes infected?

its better to have an external hdd that you can unplug and turn off when
not in use (for backupus)
and any data thats really important (not mp3s)..I would also burn to
discs...hdds don't last forever either...and if there crap...might only
last a year or 2
best hdds for backup are the western digital black drives or the Western
Digital AV-GP's

ive also listed the best external cases
